Calculate the diameter (d) of the tool here
The diameter (d) of the tool is instrumental in calculating cutting speed and rotational speed. Starting with the available drive and its rotational speeds, it is possible to perform a back-calculation to determine which tool diameters can be used on the available drive.
Calculate the cutting speed (v) here
The cutting speed (v) is the speed at which a tool bit moves through the material to be worked in the direction of the cut, removing a chip. The cutting speed V is given in metres per minute [m/min] or metres per second [m/s]. It depends on the rotational speed of the drive n in revolutions per minute [rpm] and the diameter of the tool d x π (3.14).
Calculate the ideal rotational speed (n)
The drive rotational speed (n) is given in revolutions per minute [rpm]. The required rotational speed is determined from the cutting speed V in metres per minute [m/min] or in metres per second [m/s] and the diameter of the tool d x π (3.14).
Note:The rotational speed data for the tools relates to their use under load.
