ALUMASTER now also with HICOAT coating for particularly demanding aluminium alloys
With the ALUMASTER High Speed Disc, PFERD has revolutionized aluminium machining. Many users now work with the innovative tool and are impressed with it. Responding to the increasing demand, the company has developed another version of the High Speed Disc especially for particularly demanding aluminium alloys and selected non-ferrous metals. The long-established manufacturer uses a new, very high-quality version of the HICOAT coating for this tool.
As the cutting inserts are coated, they have an extremely high hardness and a very low coefficient of friction. The adhesion tendency is low, the surface quality is improved and burr formation minimized. The coating stops the tool from clogging up and prevents abrasive wear.
These properties are particularly advantageous when the tool is used on adhering cast aluminium alloys with a silicon content of 5-10 %, abrasive cast aluminium alloys with a silicon content of more than 15 % as well as other abrasive materials or non-ferrous metals.
