Only creative companies with vision and sense of innovation have made the ranks of the 100 most innovative companies. August Rüggeberg is now one of them in 2011 and receives the "Top 100" quality seal from Lothar Späth in Ostseebad Warnemünde.
The company started producing files over 200 years ago. Since then, it has developed into one of the leading producers of manual tools with the brand name PFERD. The Rüggeberg-Group employs 1,000 members of staff in Germany and a total of more than 1,700 employees in over 20 subsidiaries worldwide.
Decisive for the innovative success is the consequential orientation of new ideas on the market. This means that product development consequently orientates itself towards business fields and their applications and works on solutions to problems. Innovations originate from numerous ideas and suggestions from employees. Within the scope of PFERD innovation management, the teams focus on developing these ideas ready for launch on the market; always with a view to customer benefits. This strategy has made a decisive contribution towards the company being able to convince again and again with innovations on the market.
Over several months, the University of Economics in Vienna checked the innovative work of medium-sized companies in Germany. The best 100 among them, including August Rüggeberg, were awarded the "Top 100" quality seal. "Reflection on our strengths combined with clearly structured processes form the basis for innovative work at PFERD. But we also involve ourselves with passion and want to make a difference. We are proud of this award and it shows that it pays off when everyone works together as a team", says Managing Director Jim Rüggeberg.
The 100 medium-sized companies that have gained the quality seal in 2011 generated a total turnover of 11.2 billion Euros in the past year. 769 national and 1,865 international patents were registered in 2010 alone. 48 of the 100 companies are the national number 1 in their sector and 19 are even the world market leader. 88 of the 100 prize winning companies have grown in the past 3 years above the industry average, achieving around 16 % on average.
