PFERD opens new subsidiary in South Korea
PFERD is continuing its international expansion, and has founded what is now its 22nd subsidiary in South Korea. In doing so, the tool manufacturer for surface finishing and cutting is addressing the increased demand from customers in Southeast Asia.
"We have been working with the markets in Southeast Asia for many years directly from Marienheide, and in recent years increasingly via our subsidiaries in Shanghai and Singapore," says Hubertus Emmann, International Sales manager at PFERD. "The demand for PFERD tools has recently grown to such an extent that we decided to establish our own sales organization in South Korea." As previously, the PFERD team on site will support the local businesses and jointly advise customers in industry and skilled crafts and trades.
Paul Kweon Jin Lee will lead the new PFERD Korea Limited subsidiary. His experience in the automotive and foundry sectors, and also in the mining industry, gives Mr Lee a thorough understanding of South Korean industry. "I am looking forward to working with a German premium brand such as PFERD," declared the South Korean Managing Director in explaining his strategy, "because the manufacturing industries here in South Korea have a profound understanding of quality and have high requirements when it comes to the reliability and cost-effectiveness of their tools. PFERD fits into South Korea very well."
In Marienheide too there are high expectations for the success of the newest subsidiary. Stefan Braun, Managing Director for Sales and Marketing at PFERD in Marienheide commented: "PFERD Korea Limited closes a gap in our sales organization in Southeast Asia. Now that we have this presence on the market we will be able to ensure our customers receive the typical PFERD advice service there too."
