PFERD receives brace of innovation awards
ALUMASTER, the PFERD innovation, impresses two more juries. Innovation awards from Austria and Oslo will move into the display cabinets of the PFERD plant in placid Marienheide.
Dietmar Höckner, Managing Director of PFERD-Rüggeberg GmbH based in the Austrian city of Linz, had the honour of accepting the fourth innovation award for the high-performance milling disc at the trade fair for wood, tools, paint and trade. The jury explained that the reasons for this place were the special advantages the tool offered its users, stating, “The ALUMASTER High Speed Disc was awarded first place of the innovation award, since the product offers many benefits for users. When working on aluminium, no hazardous, explosive dust, but defined chips are generated. This results in great advantages in everyday work, as an extractor unit is no longer needed. Moreover, we were impressed by the stability and at the same time high stock removal performance.”
In Norway, Staffan Sonesson accepted yet another award in his role as Managing Director of the Swedish PFERD subsidiary. At the 22nd Industrial Fashion Fair of the supplier TESS, the ten international jury members unanimously decided to award first place to the ALUMASTER High Speed Disc. The jury explains the place as follows: “(…) This year’s winner is a product with interesting properties which will reduce costs. In addition to a good and practical solution in terms of the environment, health and safety, users also get the possibility of recycling, an important factor for the environment and sustainability (…).” As TESS writes about the award presentation, there were no discussions among the jury members, the winner of the MRO Award 2017 was clear right away.
These two are the fourth and fifth innovation awards PFERD received for its unique milling disc. PFERD invested much time and energy in the development of this special product. “Dust in aluminium machining does not only put a strain on users in daily life, but is a real health hazard. That is why it was important to us to offer users a true alternative,” says Frank Henn, Head of Marketing at PFERD, explaining the motivation for developing the milling disc. “The awards as well as the feedback from users prove that we have solved a real problem with this product and made things easier for end users,” adds the Head of Marketing.
