New tungsten carbide burr sets for ALU and INOX
Material-specific instead of universal: Very high stock removal performance when working on aluminium and stainless steel.
With Set 1612 ALU and Set 1912 INOX, the tool specialist PFERD (www.pferd.com/de-de/) presents new tungsten carbide burr sets for working on aluminium and stainless steel. The sets contain the most common burr shapes and dimensions. They are characterized by an extremely strong stock removal performance and long tool lives compared to conventional solutions with cross cut.
PFERD offers tungsten carbide burrs for high-performance applications which far surpass conventional solutions. “We have developed burrs for working on specific materials, for instance steel, INOX, cast, aluminium or titanium. This means that these cuts achieve the optimal performance on the material for which they are intended because, to give an example, the stock removal characteristics of aluminium are very different from those of stainless steel. Therefore, you cannot use the same tool for both materials, but a tool specially tailored to the material. Among other things, this leads to an extremely high stock removal performance,” explains Thomas Plömacher, product manager for tungsten carbide burrs at PFERD, the brand of August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co. KG.
The new Set 1612 ALU includes five tungsten carbide burrs with the material-specific cut for working on aluminium. They offer a very high stock removal performance, produce large chips, reduce material adhesion, have long tool lives and run smoothly.
Set 1912 INOX is new as well and contains five tungsten carbide burrs for working on stainless steel (INOX). The INOX cut is ideally suitable for use on all austenitic, rust- and acid-resistant steels. Thanks to the innovative tooth geometry, these burrs achieve an excellent stock removal performance and tool life – up to 100% higher compared to conventional burrs with cross cut. Therefore, the burrs permit comfortable as well as long, fatigue-free and resource-saving work with significantly reduced vibration and less noise. On top of that, the optimal chip formation results in high-quality surfaces, and the low heat generation prevents discolouration in the material.
All sets are provided in a sturdy plastic box, which protects the tools from dirt and damage. The burrs are secured at the shanks, making it easier to select the tools and take them out. Sets 1612 ALU and 1912 INOX also offer five further unused slots for other burrs.
