76 mm cut-off wheels of Universal Line PS-FORTE achieve the maximum number of cuts per battery charge.
Operating internationally, the tool specialist PFERD (www.pferd.com/de-de/) takes cut-off wheels for cordless angle grinders to the next level. From now on, two versions of 76 mm wheels enhance the Universal Line PS-FORTE. With their widths of 0.8 and 1.0 mm, they achieve a high cutting performance and allow the maximum number of cuts per battery charge. In addition to these cut-off wheels, PFERD offers a 1.4 mm version of the well-known combination abrasive DUODISC in this diameter. This line extension focuses on efficiency and ergonomics and addresses new types of tool drives.
The Universal Line PS-FORTE from PFERD has been designed for various cutting tasks in industry and the trades. The tools in this performance line are characterized by a high cutting performance and long tool lives. The two new thin cut-off wheels are ideal for use on the compact cordless angle grinders recently introduced by some machine manufacturers for discs and wheels with a diameter of 76 mm. These angle grinders have a very small housing, are therefore very easy to handle and in increasing demand in industry and the trades.
Manageable solutions in demand – efficiency all over
“The success of these extremely compact angle grinders has prompted us to develop suitable thin cut-off wheels. They both cut sheet metal and profiles and thinner solid material made of steel or stainless steel (INOX). They have a high performance and at the same time a long tool life and provide cool cutting. When used on stainless steel in particular, this has several advantages because the workpiece is not subjected to excessive heat and there is no heat discolouration,” explains Marco Steinwand, product manager at PFERD, the brand of August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co KG.
The new cut-off wheels are, for instance, used for shortening screws and threaded rods and for creating cutouts in housings and switch boxes. DUODISC, which was also extended, combines cutting and roughing in one tool and is thus a practical and indispensable solution for dual use. Among others, the advantage of these cut-off and reinforced grinding wheels is increased efficiency, which leads to energy and time savings. Thanks to the maximum number of cuts per battery charge achieved and the best possible combination of cutting and grinding, the output is increased and the potential of the cordless angle grinder can be fully exploited. Following the concept of PFERDVALUE, vibration, noise and dust levels are reduced and haptics are optimized as well. This has a positive effect on the comfort for users and the cost-effectiveness of the processes.
